After knitting lots of colour work lately I thought that it is time for some basics. Since I love blue, of course I ended up knitting two blue sweaters.
The darker blue is made with Jade Sapphire’s yarn called Sylph, a mixture of cashmere and linen. I was curious about the yarn and I think it is the softest sweater I have ever made and weighs only 167 grams!
The light blue one is made with Lang Silkmerino, also soft and does definately not itch. I did not have any pattern for both of the sweaters but with some calculations they turned out pretty well. This is my favorite outfit at the moment
Trying to get out of my comfort zone I knitted with green too. The cardigan is a pattern from Carrie Bostick Hoge called Barn sweater and I love to wear it. I knitted it with Brooklyn Tweed’s Loft
But it is back to blue…
Have a nice week
Allegra was the last ( and the only word he was able to say) word Bruno said to me as I visited him in the hospital after his Stroke.
Bruno is, was my father-in-law, who died a week before Christmas. he was a kind man always in a good mood and he was the most keen person to read my blog. Every time I had written something I got a mail next day with his comments and thanks to keep him posted of what is going on here in the mountains.
We all really miss him so much.
We spent the Christmas together and there was not a day we did not think about or talked about Bruno. It did us all good.
I wish you all Bun On – happy New Year, you too Bruno, where ever you watch us. Chars salüds
Yes, I have been knitting and once again loving to choose colors. For this shawl I had some nice fall colors in my stash and I could even finish the shawl for the colorful fall season. The pattern is from one of my favorite knit designers Hélène Magnusson.
This is a very special shawl for me because Marianne spun the yarn and I love the colors and the feel of the yarn. Thank you Marianne.
of course I have knitted garments for Ella. Here a crochet-dress
And the rest of it is more or less all blues…
Inspired by Shetland
Before I hit the ski slopes I have time to knit some more, at the moment on my needles a fisherman’s sweater for Daniel
My lovely daughter Natasha became a mama, and I am Nonna now!! I am over the moon , happy and just happy again, and again
Lovely Ella Jill
Auntie Anastasia with Ella
Don’t you agree, she is the most beautiful little baby (poppa as we say here in vallader) in the world!
back to Switzerland, where we had quite a lot of snow during the last two days.
I so miss Ella
the restoration and renovation of our new home took over an year. We waited and waited and I have to admit I am extremely happy the waiting time is over.
My anticipation of a new home was high and I am not disappointed.
But the big surprise was to discover my new way to work and back. I kind of never gave it a thought, it was always about the house. Until I walked home for the first time. See the pictures and I am sure you understand what I mean
and the walk home after the first snow on the mountain tops
I just love it!
I drive to work every morning and Daniel walks down to Scuol with Anton and Oskar. After day’s work we swap, he drives home and I walk with the dogs. I think this is the happiest part of all moving and having a new home, the walk home in this beautiful scenery.
I wish you a nice week
First we moved to our new not quite finished house and then we left for the vacation. We left everything unpacked and just took off towards Finland.
Anton and Oskar came with us
We enjoyed the finish nature
life on the island
Anton and Oskar enjoyed their friend Elli

the marketIt was good to see so many friends and family. Big thank you and hugs for all of you who gave us bed and food and good company.
most of the time our weekends have three components
although it is hot in these altitudes too, we try to do some hiking. Like once again Muottas Muragl and this Sunday we hiked through Bergell, from Casaccia to Soglio

Eat good food in good company, all I need! (the food comes naturally with good wine)
